Creatures of the Night

As Fall approaches, days are getting shorter and shorter.  The creatures that come out at night get to stay out longer to hunt in the dark.  Are you afraid of the dark?  Only scary animals come out at night, right?  Of course not!  Most, if not all, nocturnal animals are beneficial to us.  Do you like sitting outside on a cool evening while being eaten alive by mosquitoes?  Well, if you are like me, you don’t really care for those biting insects.  The good news is that bats, birds and spiders are just a few nighttime creatures that devour these blood-suckers!

Still not convinced?

A single bat can consume between 500 and 1000 insects every night!
